LOCATION INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
BroadLoop is available for download on Android and iOS via the Google Play and Apple App stores. The BroadLoop App allows BroadLoop customers enables dispatchers, drivers and hired haulers to communicate important route details such as schedules, destinations, job codes and more. When a driver is assigned to a vehicle that is equipped with a physical GPS tracker, the BroadLoop app functions as a companion app; however, the app can be used independently as a GPS tracking device.
The BroadLoop app sends the user’s location information when the user has indicated they have started driving by tapping the Start button, and stop transmitting the location information when they have stopped driving by tapping the Stop button. Effectively, the app logs where the user was when he/she starts working and stops working. Additionally, when the BroadLoop app is used in place of a traditional GPS device, it will also transmit the user’s location periodically during the route.
Location information is sent from the BroadLoop app to the BroadLoop data center using an HTTPS Web Service (industry standard security protocol including). This information is stored in a BroadLoop database and is accessible only to the BroadLoop customer and to authorized BroadLoop personnel.
